Narrowing down research topics
I have narrowed down my research topic to "Motivational Techniques that Aid in Improving Student Performance". My research will include identifying different motivational techniques and implementing them in a classroom setting to develop a list of "best practices" that teachers can use to increase student mastery of curriculum. Basically a list of what works and doesn't work.

Motivational Research Findings
I have distinguished between the differences in action research and traditional research. Action research is most likely more applicable for educators in that it allows the use of the environment in which educators practice to discover the answers to problems that exist in the actual workplace. Action research is a great avenue for educators to continue to expand their knowledge base and continue to learn as they work to improve outcomes in their schools. For administrators it is beneficial in that they can be involved in meaningful interaction with other professionals outside of their traditional job descriptions.
I can see how action research will be a valuable asset when I want to find a solution to any problem that may be surfacing on my campus or aid in helping other administrators solve problems that they may be having. My research topic is a great example; how do we get students to stay motivated in the educational setting? Finding solutions to this problem potentially have huge benefits in our schools if we can truly motivate students to learn like we motivate them to perform in extra-curricular activities.
How might educators use blogs- Blogs are all about sharing information through networking. We're using the web to share information with one another that can benefit all who care to take the time to share their findings.
